Skillet Apples





1/3 cup butter or marj.


陆 cup sugar


2 tablespoons corn starch


1 陆 cups water


录-陆 tsp cinnamon


4 medium apples cored, unpeeled and cut in 陆 inch slices.





In 10 inch skillet melt butter at medium heat 3 to 4 minutes.stir in sugar and cornstarch, mix well. Add rest of ingredients cover and cook over medium heat spooning sauce over apples occasionally, until apples are fork tender and sauce is thickened. About 15 minutes

Well I'm making this up on the spot but here goes: chop the apples into cubes, and mix with the brown sugar and honey, set aside. Beat eggs and milk, stir in flour and caster sugar to make a dough. Scrape out dough onto a floured surface and press until about a 1/2 inch thick. Put the apple mixture into the center and fold dough over and sprinkle with icing sugar, place on a baking sheet and put into a roughly 375 degree oven until golden brown. I hope it might work!!
English Bread Pudding: sorry if it does not sound the best.. but it was all i could think of...





rhubarb crumble


2lbs of rhubarb


- 2 1/4 cups of brown sugar





For crumble:


- 1/2 cup of flour


- 1/2 cup of lightly salted butter


- 1/4 cup of rolled oats


- 1/4 cup of brown sugar (or sugar)


- 1/2 cup of cr猫me fra卯che


Peel the rhubarb, cut the stems in small pieces about 2 to 3cm long.


Butter a hollow porcelain oven-proof dish.


Spread out the pieces of rhubarb, powder with brown sugar and mix together.


Prepare the crumble in a bowl: mix the cut pieces of butter in the flour, add in the rolled oats and the brown sugar.


Mix well.


Distribute this coarse powder over the rhubarb.


Cook for 40 minutes at 350掳F, lower the heat and cook for 10 more minutes.


Serve hot, or very cold, with fresh cream or ice-cream.

2 oz plain flour


1 tsp baking powder


1/2 teaspoon mixed spice


pinch of salt


2 oz shredded suet


1 oz white or brown sugar


4 oz currants


2 oz fresh breadcrumbs


1 egg, beaten


4-5 tbsp milk





Butter a 1.5 pint pudding basin. Sift the flour, baking powder, spice and salt into a mixing bowl and mix in the suet, sugar, fruit and bread- crumbs. Stir in the egg and sufficient milk to produce a soft consistency that drops off the spoon in 5 seconds.


Turn the mixture into the pudding basin, which should be two-thirds full. Cover with greased foil or a snap-on lid Steam for 2 to 2.5 hours. When cooked, remove the cover and allow the pudding to shrink slightly, then cover the basin with a hot serving plate, hold it firmly and invert. Lift off the basin to leave the pudding on the plate.





Bread pudding in a slow cooker


16 slices day-old, firm-textured white bread (1 small loaf)


1-3/4 cups milk


1 package (8 ounces) mixed dried fruit, cut into small pieces


1/2 cup chopped nuts


1 medium apple, chopped


1/3 cup packed brown sugar


1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, melted


1 egg, lightly beaten


1 teaspoon ground cinnamon


1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg


1/4 teaspoon ground cloves


Tear bread, with crusts, into 1- to 2-inch pieces; place in slow cooker. Pour milk over bread; let soak 30 minutes. Stir in dried fruit, nuts and apple.


2. Combine remaining ingredients in small bowl; pour over bread mixture. Stir well to blend. Cover; cook on LOW 3-1/2 to 4 hours or until skewer inserted into center of pudding comes out clean.
