Strawberries can mean only one thing ...
ETON MESS
Serves 2
INGREDIENTS
450g of fresh strawberries
1 tablespoon of sugar
250g of meringue
250ml of cream
METHOD
Wash the strawberries, remove any stalks and chop them into quarters. Break or chop the meringue into rough 2cm (1 inch) pieces.
Put the strawberries in a bowl. Sprinkle over the sugar. Mix together.
Pour the cream into another bowl. Lightly whip the cream. Don’t over-do it: it should still be pourable.
Add the strawberries to the cream, or vice versa. Add the meringue pieces. Mix together and serve.
ADDITIONS %26amp; ALTERNATIVES
Use ready-made meringue, especially if it’s broken and/or reduced in price.
If you make your own meringue, this is the dish to practice with. If they weep, crack or even collapse, you can still use them in this. However, you do have to make it a day in advance.
For the romantic version, top with a large strawberry and offer this to your partner.
An authentic Eton mess uses strawberries, but other summer fruits work well.
However, even Heston Blumenthal has had to concede that Eton mess is “quite simply impossible to improve upon”.
HISTORICAL NOTES
Eton mess originated at Eton College in the 1930’s, when a mixture of either strawberries or bananas with cream or ice cream, all stirred together (hence the name ';mess';), was served in the school’s “sock shop” (tuck shop). One anecdotal story is that the dessert was ‘invented’ by a Labrador dog, when it sat on a picnic basket in the back of a car. With the later addition of the meringue, it has evolved into the unashamedly wicked, yet still quintessentially English, summer dessert. It is traditionally served at Eton College's annual prize-giving celebration picnic on what is still called the ';Fourth of June”, despite actually taking place on the last Wednesday in May.
This is SUPER easy and you can also DOUBLE it for the picnic.
CHOCOLATE DELIGHT
In order for this recipe to go smoothly make sure your cream cheese and butter are extremely soft.
FIRST LAYER:
1 c. flour
1 stick butter, softened
1/2 c. pecans (chopped well)
SECOND LAYER:
1 c. confectioners' sugar
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 lg. (12 oz. container) Cool Whip
THIRD LAYER:
2 pkg. (3 1/2 oz.) instant chocolate pudding
3 c. milk
First layer: combine ingredients until crumbly and pat into 8 x 12 inch baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or microwave on high for 5 minutes. Cool.
Second layer: Mix sugar and cheese until light and fluffy and fold in Cool Whip. Spoon onto crust.
Third Layer: Combine until smooth. Spread over second layer.
Fourth Layer: Spread remaining Cool Whip on top, then sprinkle with pecans. Refrigerate. Serves 8.
NOTE: Instead of putting pecans on the top, put strawberries.
Also you can use just vanilla pudding OR chocolate pudding if you like
Final note: NOTE that TWO packages of pudding to only THREE cups of milk.
Stuffed Strawberry Picnic Queens
12 large, fresh strawberries, washed
3 oz cream cheese, softened
2 Tbsp. confectioner's sugar
1 Tbsp. sour cream
fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Remove stems from strawberries to form a flat base. Place berries on cutting surface, pointed end facing up. With a sharp knife, carefully slice each berry in half vertically to within a 1/4 inch of base. Cut each half into three wedges to form 6 petals. (Don't slice through the base.) Pull petals apart slightly.
In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, powdered sugar and sour cream; beat until light and fluffy. With a pastry bag (or plastic zipper bag) and star tip or small spoon, fill strawberries with cream cheese mixture. Garnish with a bit of mint leaf.
You can also sue strawberry-flavored cream cheese.

Whats a good Mexican dessert recipe?
Anything like fried cakes with cinnamon sugar on top or something. I'm asking cause I need to take something to my Spanish class party.Whats a good Mexican dessert recipe?
My stepfather is hispanic, the most common dessert I ever saw mexicans eat was a desert called milk rice. It's really good, not to sweet, but creamy!! Very good. You can use long or medium grain rice, I prefer medium, it makes it that much creamier. It's simple. Boil about two cups of rice, with six cups of milk(3 parts liquid per cup), add a few cinnamon sticks for more flavor. Bring to a boil, turn down heat to med and simmer, you'll know when the rice is cooked well when it absorbs most of the milk, stir occasionally. Immedietly after that, add a can of condensed milk, three cups of regular milk, 1/2 cup sugar, cook it about 5 min more until it is hot, stirring to mix. You can add a tsp of vanilla flavoring to it too. Take out the cinnamon sticks. Serve in bowls hot!
You can cook it how you like. It's really good, this is just my recipe for it.
Enjoy!

Those are LAVA CAKES and extremely yummy!
Ingredients:
* 8 ounces semisweet or
bittersweet chocolate, chopped
* 4 large eggs
* 陆 pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter, chopped
* 4 tablespoons unbleached all-
purpose flour
* 陆 cup sugar
* 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg*
* 陆 teaspoon ground cinnamon鈥攐r
for a mint version, substitute 1录
teaspoons peppermint extract for the cinnamon
* Whipped cream for garnish (1 pint heavy cream, confectioners鈥?sugar and vanilla extract)
* Raspberries and mint leaves for
garnish (optional)
Preparation:
1. Preheat the oven to 350掳F. Grease eight 4-ounce cake molds or ramekins.
2. Over a double boiler, melt the chocolate and butter, stirring constantly. Once they are completely melted, set aside and cool.
3. Combine the sugar and eggs and whisk until pale and fluffy. Stir the chocolate mixture into the egg mixture until completely blended. Whisk in the flour, nutmeg and cinnamon and mix well.
4. Pour the batter into the cake molds and bake for 14 minutes at 350掳F.
5. While the cakes are baking you can whip the cream. To one pint heavy cream add 2 tablespoons confectioners鈥?sugar as the cream begins to thicken, plus 1 teaspoon vanilla and a few grains salt. Unsweetened or barely-sweetened whipped cream is also delicious, so feel free to reduce the sugar or add none at all.
6. Remove the lava cakes from the oven and cool for 2 minutes. Run a knife around the edges, invert the molds onto individual dessert plates, garnish with raspberries and mint leaves and serve immediately. We prefer to pass the whipped cream in a bowl so guests can help themselves to the amount they prefer.
Enjoy!!

Pampushky (Raised Doughnuts With Filling)
2 tb Sugar
1/2 c Water
2 pk Active Dry Yeast
1/4 c Milk
5 c Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
-Up To 6 May Be Needed
1/4 lb Butter; 1 Stick
1/2 c Sugar
2 lg Eggs
3 lg Egg Yolks
1 ts Salt; If Using Sweet Butter
1 ts Vanilla Extract
Zest Of One Lemon
1 c Rose Preserve Or Any Dry Fruit Preserve
Powdered Sugar; As Needed
Combine the sugar and water, sprinkle with the yeast, and let stand until soft. Heat the milk to lukewarm, and add the milk and 1/4 cup of the flour to the yeast mixture. Beat well, cover and allow to rise until
light and bubbly, about 10 minutes. In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Beat eggs and egg yolks together, blending well and combine with the sugar-butter mixture, beating thoroughly until the eggs are pale white. Grate a lemon on a fine grater until all of the yellow color is grated off and add this (the zest), vanilla, and the yeast mixture to the butter-egg mixture. Mix in 4 cups of flour. If the dough seems a little loose, add a little more, but the dough should be soft. Knead, by hand, for about 10 minutes. Replace in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top, and cover with a damp towel, set in a warm place until double in bulk. Punch down, knead a few more times, and allow to rise again until the dough is doubled. When doubled, divide the dough into 4 parts. On a
lightly floured surface, roll one part into a rectangle about 1/4-inch thick, turning once or twice during the rolling to achieve a uniform thickness. Dust with flour sparingly. Place 1 ts of rose preserve at evenly space intervals on the dough, or with a 2 1/2-inch cutter, gently
form impressions and place the filling in each. Roll another portion out, as above, to the same thickness, and gently cover the first, overlapping a little. (Filling will show through.) Cut circles with the cutter. Place
them on a lightly floured cookie sheet and allow rise until double in size. Repeat until all of the dough is used, rolling out the scraps last.
Heat oil or shortening to 375 degrees F. in a deep fryer or wide skillet. Test the temperature by frying a piece of bread; it should bubble and turn golden quickly. The fat should not be smoking. Fry 5 or 6 pampushky at a time. Do NOT crowd as this lowers the temperature and the doughnuts
will absorb too much grease. When one side is golden, flip with a spoon to fry the other side. Dough will puff up in the frying. Perfect pampushky are light as air. Drain on paper towels. When slightly cooled, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Serve with tea.
